LANARK LIT AWARDS GALA & READING
Sunday, 8 Dec from 2-4pm, at Almonte branch library. Refreshments will be served

Almonte Readers & Writers invite you to join in a celebration of the competition winners! Check out the list of winners at www.almontereadersandwriters.org (announced a week in advance of the Gala), then please plan to join us at the Gala to hear the authors read from their short-listed & winning stories.

This is a celebration of the abundance of talent in this wonderful community of writers! Presented by Almonte Readers & Writers, with funding support from the Elizabeth Kelly Foundation, partial funding by Mississippi Mills, and with the community partnership of the Mississippi Mills Public Library.

The last Story and Baby times before the holidays are Wed. 11 December 2024.

They restart Wed. 8 January 2025!

Together we read – Canada runs from 25 November – 9 December. The title this time around is Going to Beautiful by Anthony Bidulka. Bidulka’s novels have been shortlisted for numerous awards: Going to Beautiful is the 2023 winner of the Crime Writers of Canada Award for Best Crime Novel. No waitlists on the eBook or eAudio on Libby & Overdrive until 9 Dec: everyone who wants to “read together” can borrow a digital copy! (MMPL also has a physical copy of this title on order – you can reserve here, if interested.)

On Wednesday, 4 Dec at 2pm, at Almonte branch, Artist Blair T. Paul presents his Almonte Falls painting to the Library in dedication to the memory of his friend Sean Eagan.
