Brian Isaac Thomas book talk – hosted by MMPL & Mill Street Books, Almonte
Tuesday, 28 October at 6:30pm – Almonte Branch. FREE EVENT. Registration is required: https://form.jotform.com/252404161359251 Books will be available for purchase at the event!
22 October is The Friend. No registration is required to attend the film, but room capacity is 30.
NO Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service due to the Canada Post strike.
ILL relies on mail delivery between libraries, and so staff can’t process or send requests until postal service is up and running again. The library is not accepting any new ILL requests at this time. If you have ILL items at home, feel free to return them. Once we’re able to restart ILL, requests may take longer than usual. Thanks for your patience & understanding!
Travelogues return to the Almonte branch! The first travelogue is 12 November: more details & registration to come, but see the full schedule here.
Travelogue call out: Ever had to “kiss the cod”, get “screeched in”, or asked if you’re “from away”? We are putting together a small group of people to share an evening of stories, tips and/or photos about Newfoundland and/or Labrador this March 2026. For more information, please contact Melanie: mbrunton@missmillslibrary.com
First Nation Public Library Week runs 6-10 Oct. and this marks its Silver Jubilee, celebrating 25 years of growth, resilience, and community connection. Like public libraries themselves, the program has evolved over time—adapting to new needs while staying true to its roots: promoting on-reserve public libraries and celebrating Indigenous culture, history, and people.
