Design, Build & Play: Summer Board Game workshop, at the Makerspace, Pakenham Branch
July 17 – August 22
Ages 10–16

This summer, join a hands-on board game makerspace workshop, a fun and creative 3-day program where participants play a game, redesign it, and physically build new components using real makerspace tools!

What to Expect:
Each 3-day session (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1–4:30 PM) begins with group gameplay, followed by brainstorming and hands-on building time in the library Makerspace. Every week features a different board game and unique projects. No experience is required, just creativity and a willingness to try something new!

Participants will learn to use: Cricut, Laser cutter, Heat press, Button maker, craft tools and everyday materials.

Together, we’ll create: custom game pieces, redesigned boards, new rules and card sets, dice towers, organizers & more!

Orientation Day (and REGISTRATION DAY) – Everyone Welcome – drop-in Thursday, 17 July from 1–5 PM at the Pakenham Branch to:

  • Try out some board games
  • Explore the makerspace

At the end of the summer, participants will showcase their collaborative upgraded board games in a celebration open to all who took part. Limited spots are available each week. Registration opens on Orientation Day in person: Thursday, 17 July.
