There are a variety of scams and frauds happening in Canada- with new ones invented daily. Many scams attempt to imitate government offices to gain access to your personal information. This presentation will touch on the following topics: · Social insurance number· Protecting your SIN· When to provide your SIN· Common scams· Tips to protect yourself· Little Black Book of Scams· Reporting Fraud.
Each participant will leave with a handout, The Little Black Book of Scams, which holds helpful tips on what to watch out for, the different types of scams, contact numbers for the credit bureaus, Anti-Fraud Centre and how to report fraud/scams.
