In late August of 2022, Robert and his wife Pat headed west. Their main objective was to visit Olympic National Park, follow the Pacific Coast Highway south to California and see Monument Valley. On the way they also visited the Rockies, Redwood National and State Parks along Avenue of the Giants, San Francisco, Big Sur, Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, and Dead Horse Point State Park. They travelled over 20,000 kms in about two months in their truck camper and saw some amazing landscapes.
