Local residents, Rob and Sharon Newton produced independent short films and feature length documentaries about our region in the Ottawa Valley for years. They have more recently created a Youtube channel with all their content – as well as some of their original music videos.
The library has DVD copies of many of their creations – Almonte Transitions, Almonte’s Interwoven Past, Beauty in the Valley, Millworkers’ Memories & In Danger of Legacy Lost: the Art of Juan Geuer – and will soon have The Ghosts of Mississippi Mills and History of the Carleton Place Canoe Club.
Meanwhile – these are all available at the Newton’s channel!
“Do you believe in ghosts? Yes? No? Either way these are fascinating stories told by the people who experienced them. Who knows… if you didn’t believe before, you just might after you watch! Some are disturbing, others are actually quite nice. In any event we invite you to learn about the folklore of this wonderful area not too far from Ottawa, Canada. Enjoy, Rob & Sharon Newton”
