Mobile WIFI Hotspots available to borrow from Mississippi Mills Public Library

Thanks to funding from the Healthy Communities Initiative, the MM Hotspot Project includes 12 mobile hotspots available for checkout for one week to library patrons 18 years or older. The MM Hotspot Project allows patrons access to free WIFI using cellular service (note: cell reception quality can affect connection). The hotspots are ideal for people living in areas without broadband internet service or for people without internet contracts. The MM Hotspot Project also aims to help bridge the digital divide in Mississippi Mills where broadband infrastructure is still under-developed in rural parts of our community.

Hotspots can be filtered for children, providing safe internet usage. MM residents without their own devices can also borrow Chromebooks with their library card. More information or to reserve a hotspot or Chromebook, please visit the Library of Things. Please note: The library also offers free WIFI inside and outside both the Almonte and Pakenham branches.
