Did you know you can borrow a FREE vehicle permit seasonal pass from the library to get free day use of Ontario Parks?

Once you have the day use pass, to guarantee entry, you need to reserve your spot in advance of arrival for the 17 busiest parks. This program starts 7 June and runs until 2 September 2021. You can reserve your daily vehicle permit up to 5 days in advance of arrival. Go to: http://www.ontarioparks.com/dayuse for more information.

These 17 busiest parks are:

• Algonquin

• Arrowhead

• Batchawana Bay

• Craigleith

• Darlington

• Forks of the Credit

• Kakabeka Falls

• Kettle Lakes

• Lake Superior

• Long Point

• Mono Cliffs

• North Beach

• Presqu’ile

• Pinery

• Sandbanks

• Sibbald Point

• Turkey Point

At all other parks daily vehicle permits are used on a first come first served basis upon arrival at the gatehouse. Get your FREE permit at the library first. The library vehicle permit pass can be borrowed for a week.

Says Ontario Parks: “Day use remains free Monday to Thursday (until September 2), but parks can fill up fast, especially during busy times. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend that you secure your spot before you visit our 17 participating parks this year.

“We are encouraging everyone to do your part to minimize the risk to ourselves and to others by ensuring you continue to follow all public health advice and engage in outdoor activities close to where you live.”
