The Mississippi Mills Public Library regrets to announce that the Summer Day Camp as well as the Elizabeth Kelly Foundation Literacy program have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This difficult decision was made following provincial guidelines and with a concern for our community’s children and their families and our staff.
Both of our summer programs have been extremely popular over the past years. The Literacy tutoring has seen great strides made by children requiring an extra boost over the summer. The very nature of one-on-one tutoring where reading together in close proximity and engaging in tactile literacy activities makes this program impossible at this time.
On a happier note, the Library encourages children to join the online TD Summer Reading Club. Watch this short video to find out more about this fun and exciting program! You will find the online program packed with fun and exciting activities to encourage reading over the summer.
We are very excited to be able to offer Craft Kits this summer! These bags of goodies will include a craft idea and supplies. These free kits will be available to order soon on a weekly basis. Distribution will happen during our regular curbside pick-up service at both branches. Stay tuned for more information!
Wishing you all a fun and safe summer. We will miss you.
